Description

Take a journey back in time and explore the Agora of Ancient Athens, the vibrant centre of political, commercial, administrative and social activity. Here, Socrates advanced his philosophy and it is said that St Paul preached the gospel of Christianity. Today, the Agora is a beautiful oasis of greenery, home to the magnificent Temple of Hephaistos, a museum and the 11th-century Byzantine Church of the Holy Apostles, featuring an intricate brick design reminiscent of Arabic calligraphy. You can also spot birds and lizards. Allow yourself at least two hours to explore the entire site.
