Description

According to myth, the rocky outcrop below the Acropolis is where Ares was tried and ultimately exonerated by the gods of the council for the murder of Halirrhothios, son of Poseidon. Ares argued that he was protecting his daughter Alcippe from unwanted advances and the gods accepted this as a defense of justifiable homicide. Additionally, this viewpoint offers stunning vistas of the Ancient Agora.
