Description

This 11th-century church, formerly owned by the Monastery of St Catherine in the Sinai Peninsula and thus taking on its name, is one of the few very old Byzantine churches that is open regularly. It is worth visiting to observe how the space is still in vibrant use and adorned with bright frescoes. Additionally, the front yard features some Roman ruins.
