Description

This museum, though not especially spacious, contains a noteworthy variety of Islamic art. Visitors can explore four floors of a mansion, all arranged by era, displaying an array of stunningly crafted textiles, jewelry, pottery and more. The museum even has a reproduction of a marble-floored reception room from a Cairo manor built in the 17th century. Signs within the museum provide further insight into the pieces on display. For those who go down to the basement, they will find part of Athens’ original Themistoklean wall on display. Lastly, the museum’s rooftop café offers a fantastic view of Keramikos, as well as Narvine G Khan-Dossos’ mural “Imagine a Palm Tree”.
