Description

The Theatre of Dionysos can be reached by taking a path uphill and to the west, leading to the Stoa of Eumenes. Built by Eumenes II, King of Pergamum (197–159 BC), the Stoa is a long, columned structure that served as both a shelter and a promenade for theatregoers. Above the Stoa, the Asclepieion is a temple that was built around a sacred spring, located on the side of the hill.
